Crown's venues list Melbourne Cup Day lunches: private rooms at Golden Century, a race-day lunch at Woodcut with its Hickory Bar, and Vista'Mare in the lobby. Expect the waterfront to be busy from midday.
Thursday 19 November 2026 · Summer pool party
Crown's first pool party, 6-11pm at the level 5 pool, with Australian DJ and producer CYRIL, food from the tower's restaurants and a dress code of "shades of sunset". For guests 18 and over. Crown listed tickets at $495 a person plus ticketing fees on 1 November 2026, and a "Pool Party and Stay" hotel package with two tickets.
12, 13 and 19-23 December 2026 · Roving Santa
Santa walks the building from 4pm to 9pm on these dates, per Crown's Christmas page.
Thursday 24 December 2026 · Christmas Eve
Santa is in the building from noon to 10pm.
Friday 25 December 2026 · Christmas Day
Santa from 8am to 9pm; photo booths at Epicurean between 1pm and 3pm.
Thursday 31 December 2026 · New Year's Eve
Dining across Crown's venues, and a New Year's Eve night at CIRQ on level 26 from 8pm to 1am.
Plan around the first of the month
Three things at Crown Sydney open their books on a fixed day, and each one fills.
- CIRQ: reservations open online two months ahead, on the first of each month.
- Yoshii's Omakase: seats are released on the first of the month at 12pm.
- Sky Deck: places for the following month are released on the first at 12pm.
If your stay is around a date above, set a reminder for the first of the month before.
Plan New Year's Eve in a tower
New Year's Eve is the one night when the harbour is the main event for the whole city. Crown publishes venue dining for the night and the CIRQ event; it doesn't publish hotel packages on the pages we read. If you want a room that night, ask early and tell us which way you want to face. The Opera rooms and Harbour Bridge rooms are named for exactly the view people want at midnight.
Crown's late check-out rule is worth knowing here: it isn't offered at weekends, school holidays or special events. The morning of 1 January will be an 11am check-out unless your booking says otherwise.
