Understand membership
Crown Sydney runs its casino on a members-only basis. Joining is free and needs valid identification and approval in line with regulatory requirements, according to Crown. Crown notes that peak times for new memberships are Friday and Saturday evenings, so there may be a wait. The Crown Rewards Desk is on level 2 and opens Sunday to Thursday from 10am to midnight, and on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3am.
Being a hotel guest doesn't make you a member, and you don't need to be a member to stay at the hotel, eat in the restaurants, swim, or go up to CIRQ. Most of the building has nothing to do with the casino floor.
Know what's there, briefly
Crown describes its gaming as table games and electronic table games. It doesn't publish a floor size or a count of tables, and we don't guess. There's also a members-only lounge on level 2, the Mahogany Lounge, open from noon to 11pm daily, per Crown.
Note the limits Crown enforces
Crown applies time limits to gaming of 12 hours a day and 48 hours a week. It also describes identity verification, monitoring and other responsible practices on its casino pages. These are Crown's statements about its own operation; for independent help, see below.
Find help without going through Crown
If gambling is costing you more than you planned, in money, time or sleep, call Gambling Help on 1800 858 858. It's free, confidential and open 24 hours, and GambleAware NSW says it can help in more than 40 languages. You can also reach it online at gamblinghelponline.org.au.
In NSW you can ban yourself from a casino; GambleAware NSW sets the minimum casino self-exclusion period at 12 months. At Crown Sydney you can start this at the PlaySafe Centre on level 2, opposite the gaming floor entrance, at casino reception, or through an online form. Our responsible gambling page has more.
This site doesn't promote gambling, carries no gambling offers and has no commercial link with the casino. We describe it because it's part of the building you'll be staying in.
