Ratings · what we actually saw

Read the public scores with a date beside them

We print one public figure, because it is the only one we looked at with our own eyes, and we say when. Everything else here is about how to read ratings, not about inventing them.

See the one number we checked

On 29 October 2026 we captured the Google Maps card for Crown Sydney, 1 Barangaroo Avenue, while checking the map pin for this site. The card showed an average of 4.2 out of 5 and listed the place as a hotel. The number of reviews behind that average was not visible on the screen we captured, so we don't quote one.

Two things to know about that figure. First, it belongs to the Crown Sydney listing as a whole, which mixes hotel guests, diners, casino visitors and people who came for a drink on level 26. Second, Google Maps also shows a separate pin for Crown Towers Sydney a short distance away on the same map. Reviews can land on either, so read both if you are judging the hotel alone.

Note the awards Crown cites

Crown's own pages name a few industry awards. We list them because they are public and attributed, not because an award tells you whether you'll sleep well.

Wikipedia, a secondary source, records that the tower won an Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2021. We have not seen that award on Crown's pages.

Read a hotel score like a regular

A score near 4 for a big harbour hotel usually hides two stories. Guests who got the view they wanted tend to write about the window, the bathroom and the pool. Guests who didn't tend to write about the price, the parking and the wait. Filter for reviews that name a room type: they are the useful ones.

Sort by newest. Restaurants open and close inside the tower: Crown's site noted that 88 Noodle closed on 18 October, and new venues are announced for 2027. A review from 2022 may describe a dinner you can no longer have.

Look for the words "construction", "late check-out" and "valet". Those are the three practical points where expectations and Crown's published policies meet, and you can check all three on our review and parking pages before you book.

Know what we will never do

We don't write guest reviews, we don't quote reviewers by name, and we don't give the hotel a star rating of our own. Our verdict is an editor's opinion built from published facts, labelled as such.

Checked against Crown Sydney's own pages on 1 November 2026. Hours, prices and menus change; confirm with the venue.

Ask our desk for a room

Tell us the nights. We check what Crown Towers Sydney has and reply by email with options. A request, not a booking.

Commission is paid by the hotel or booking partner only when a request becomes a confirmed stay. How that works.
