Walk into the Opera King
You enter through a foyer, which is a small thing until you've stayed in rooms where the door opens straight onto the bed. Crown's page describes a large, richly upholstered sofa and a study alcove, so you can work at a desk while someone else watches the harbour. The marble bathroom has a sculptured bath, a rain shower and a spacious walk-in robe.
The page is explicit about the view: the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. It also carries Crown's note that construction alongside the hotel may be visible from the window, though Crown says it doesn't interrupt the view of the landmarks.

Two custom-made beds look towards the Opera House. Crown describes textured fabrics and handcrafted timber, an open plan with a sitting area, and a large bathroom with dual vanities, an egg-shaped bathtub and a walk-in rain shower. Up to four guests. It's the room for two friends on a Sydney weekend, or a family that wants the postcard view without paying for a two-bedroom suite.
Time it for the evening
The Opera House sits east of Barangaroo, across Circular Quay. Facing it, you're looking away from the sunset, so the show is the sky turning dark blue behind the sails and the lights coming on around the Quay. Order in, keep the lights low, and let the window run the evening.
Know when to step up
For more space on this side, the Opera Studio gives you 72 square metres with the bath in the middle of the ensuite. For two bedrooms with the same outlook, the Opera Tower Suite is 120 square metres.
