Notice the signs early
GambleAware NSW publishes guidance on the signs of gambling harm and its effect on families. In plain terms: spending more time or money than you meant to, chasing losses, borrowing to gamble, hiding it, or feeling anxious when you're not gambling. If any of that sounds familiar, for you or someone close to you, the line above is the place to start.
Ban yourself from a casino
In NSW you can self-exclude from a venue, or part of a venue, for a period you choose. GambleAware NSW sets the minimum for casinos at 12 months; for clubs and pubs it is six months. You sign an agreement with the venue, your name and photo go on its register, and staff will stop you from entering. GambleAware says the information is confidential and seen only by staff who need it.
At Crown Sydney you can start self-exclusion at the PlaySafe Centre on level 2, opposite the entrance to the gaming floor, at casino reception, or through Crown's online form, per Crown's PlaySafe pages. GambleAware NSW's page on taking a break explains the process for every kind of venue: take a break and ban yourself.
Use the limits on the floor
Crown Sydney's casino is members-only and adults-only, requires physical ID, and enforces limits on gaming time of 12 hours a day and 48 hours a week, according to Crown. Those are Crown's rules for its own floor; set your own limits well below them. Decide before you arrive how much time and money the evening gets, and leave cards in the room safe.
Keep the stay about the stay
Nothing on this site is an invitation to gamble. We describe the casino on one page because it occupies part of the building you'll sleep in, and we give it the same factual treatment as the gym. Everything else here, from the rooms to the walk to the headland, is the reason to come.
Know the age
The casino at Crown Sydney admits members aged 18 and over. Crown requires physical identification; digital ID isn't accepted, per its membership page. CIRQ, the rooftop bar, is also 18+.
