Take the lift to 26 and book before the month turns

Three bars and a fourth beside a restaurant. The one everybody wants is CIRQ, and it fills on the first of the month.

Go up to CIRQ

CIRQ is the rooftop bar on level 26, and Crown says it won Bar of the Year (Deluxe) at Tourism Accommodation Australia's Awards for Excellence. It's split into three spaces: an indoor lounge and two outdoor lounges on a lower and an upper terrace, facing Circular Quay and the inlets of the harbour. The menu is built for sharing, with cured meats, cheese and seafood plates; Crown says its cocktails use native Australian botanicals.

Book it properly. Reservations open online two months ahead, on the first of each month. A card secures the table, though nothing is charged at booking; cancel at least 12 hours ahead or a $50-a-head fee applies, per Crown's terms. Tables are held for 15 minutes past your time. Groups of 11 or more book by email. CIRQ is 18+.

CIRQ is mostly outdoors. Crown warns that bad weather affects it and that it may not be able to move you inside. On a windy night, have a plan B on a lower floor.

Settle into Teahouse

Teahouse on level 3 is the opposite of CIRQ: inside, velvet and gold, Asian-inspired small plates and a long list of specialty teas beside the cocktails and Champagne. The ornate birdcages seat up to twelve and can be booked for a celebration. It opens at noon on weekends, which makes it a good place to sit out an afternoon shower.

Start or end in the lobby

Vista'Mare is the lobby bar on the ground floor, with a terrace on the harbourfront. It opens at 7am, so it's coffee in the morning and an aperitivo at dusk; Crown highlights a list of regional Negronis. On Saturdays and Sundays it serves an Italian high tea, listed from $79 when we checked.

Pair a bar with a table

  1. Before a'Mare

Vista'Mare is next door. Take a drink on the terrace and walk across.

  2. After Golden Century

Teahouse is on the same floor, level 3, open until 10 or 11pm.

  3. Before Woodcut

Hickory Bar is part of Woodcut and opens at noon.

  4. For the late finish

CIRQ stays open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays it closes at 9pm.

Mind the rules

Crown applies a smart casual dress standard across the venues: no thongs, no activewear, no work boots or high-vis. Surcharges of 10 percent on Saturdays and 15 percent on Sundays and public holidays are listed at CIRQ. Crown says it practises the responsible service of alcohol.

Tell us the nights. We check what Crown Towers Sydney has and reply by email with options. A request, not a booking.

Commission is paid by the hotel or booking partner only when a request becomes a confirmed stay. How that works.
