Read the short version first
Stay here if the harbour is the reason you came to Sydney and you want to see it from bed. Every room category Crown publishes has floor-to-ceiling glass, and the room names are honest about direction: the bay side, the Harbour Bridge side, the Opera House side. Spend your money on the view, not on the extra square metres.
Look elsewhere if you need a cheap base, a quiet family hotel with a kids' club, or a place that is relaxed about what you wear in the public areas. Crown applies a smart casual dress standard across the building, parks your car at a daily rate that would buy a decent dinner, and runs the casino on a members-only basis that suits some guests and irritates others.
Weigh what works
The glass
The rooms are built around the windows. Even the entry-level Deluxe King is 47 square metres with full-height glass and a marble bathroom with an egg-shaped bath.
The direction you can choose
Room names carry the view: bay, Harbour Bridge or Opera House. You can ask for the outlook you want rather than hoping for a high floor.
The food stack
a'Mare and Woodcut at the waterline, Nobu on level 2, Golden Century and Teahouse on level 3, Epicurean on level 5, CIRQ on level 26. You can eat well for three nights without leaving the building.
The pool
Crown calls it the city's only infinity pool. It is heated to 28 degrees and turns adults-only from 6pm, which is exactly when you want it.
The walk outside
Barangaroo Reserve, the ferry wharf and the waterfront promenade are all on foot. The evening doesn't need a taxi.
Weigh what asks a lot of you
Construction in the window
Several room pages carry Crown's own note that construction alongside the hotel may be visible from the window. Crown says it won't block the landmarks; we'd still ask about it when you book.
Parking
Valet costs $100 a day for hotel guests, as listed on Crown's getting-here page on 1 November 2026. Vehicles over 2.1 metres high can't use it at all.
Late check-out
Not available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays or busy dates. Weekend guests leave at 11am.
Surcharges
Several venues add 10 percent on Saturdays and 15 percent on Sundays and public holidays. Read the menu footer before you order.
Booking windows
CIRQ, Yoshii's Omakase and Sky Deck all release places on the first of the month. Leave it late and you won't get in.
Know who it suits
Couples marking something: an anniversary, a proposal, a birthday dinner that runs late. A traveller in Sydney for work who wants to walk to the CBD and ICC Sydney and come back to a view. A small group who would rather take a two-bedroom suite than three rooms on different floors.
It suits less well a family that wants space to run around inside the hotel, guests driving a high vehicle, and anyone who wants the casino to be the point of the stay. On this site the casino is one floor among many, and we describe it neutrally on its own page.
Check what we could not
Crown does not publish floor numbers for room categories below the villas, and it doesn't publish a gaming floor size. Some figures conflict between Crown's own pages: a summary page says rooms start at 48 square metres while the Deluxe King page says 47, and the Presidential Villa header says 820 square metres while its text says 800. Where that happens we print the room page's figure and say there is a conflict.
Get the verdict in one line
A tower hotel that sells the harbour honestly and charges for it. Book the Opera or Harbour Bridge side if the view is the point, keep the car at home, and plan one evening in the building and one on the waterfront.
